55 East - Cafe In Walworth

55 East is an independent cafe in Walworth, South East London. Situated on South London's iconic East Street market, 55 East serve quality coffee and delicious, nutritious, breakfast and lunch dishes.

A cozy, community centred cafe, 55 East was established by Hatch Enterprises; a business incubator who help local entrepreneurs start and grow their businesses. The cafe is therefore more of a meeting place than anything else; a space where locals are invited to meet neighbours, discuss local issues and hold meet-ups.

Expect espressos, cortados and mochas, amongst a host of other coffees, alongside Venezuelan hot chocolate and an impressive range of teas. For something cold, choose from the team's two house smoothies, one of their freshly squeezed juices - some of which are laced with fiery ginger and sweet beetroot - or from their bought-in Charitea and Lemonaid ranges, both of whom send a portion of their profits to various charities and aid groups.

Their Old Spike coffee is equally socially minded; hailing from a Peckham based coffee roaster who employ homeless people to roast, serve and deliver their coffee. Snuggle into one of their couches with a book for a couple hours, or meet with friends while admiring a rotation of exhibitions by local artists.

The cafe is nestled between the 55 East co-working space, which is buzzing with local entrepreneurs and freelancers, and the 55 East pop up event space, which offers an array of community activities, classes and events.

The space accommodates: individuals with disabilities, babies, vegans, workers with laptops, dogs.. you name it!
